Hello! I've definitely used this forum for tips and advice from Ranger owners while looking for a used Ranger myself, so I'm excited to share that I'm once again a Ranger owner!
Back in 2005 I had a '97 Ranger XL 2wd Manual, but it blew up when the throttle got stuck wide open... Other than that, I loved that truck!! Scoured the internet for months recently for a 4x4 with a manual that would last me a while. Finally found it, flew out to Colorado to pick it up and drove it back to the Midwest, since everything here is usually pretty much rusted out more than I'd care to deal with. It had 148k miles on it mostly from one owner and all I had to fix was a leaky oil pan gasket (which was some serious labor, like 7 hrs) and a squeaky AC delete pulley for the major stuff, and a few small things otherwise, and the aluminum camper on the back. Also did a full underbody wax spray to keep it from rusting. I plan on keeping it stock for now, at least until my next set of tires. I think these 30x9.5R15 General Grabber A/T's on stock rims put it where I want it to be, for now anyways. No lift needed, no rubbing, just gets the job done for me for winter and any camping/exploring I will be doing off the beaten path in the near future. It's very likely I'll be outfitting it for truck camping/light overlanding soon.
