Been a member for a while. Just never introduced myself. Name is Austin. I’m a professional welder and fabricator and build everything from x ray tested pressure vessels to honky-tonk bumper retrofits.
My ranger was supposed to just be a beater when I got it but it’s been turning into a work truck/trailer rig. 1993 ranger 4x4 with a little over 575k on the original bottom end, got it from the original owner a few years ago. He was a master tech and did religious oil changes and maintenance on it, just got back from a 1000 mile road trip going 80mph the whole time. Wouldn’t hesitate doing it again tomorrow.
I bought it with the original ttb suspension set up with the 8.8 in back. After having too many issues with bearings blowing out from the 33’s and 4” lift and snapping the axles on the 8.8, I threw a 14 bolt rear and Dana 60 front axle on some leaf springs. This year planning on a motor refresh Either a rebuilt turbo 4.0 or swap a 5.0/zf5 combo.
