Bought a newer Ranger

I used to have a 1997 Ford Ranger and that was my first truck I loved it but had to get rid of it because it was costing me too much to fix. So I went and bought a 1998 Ford Ranger all most no rust on it with 100k on it drives good and everything. The one thing that is making me mad about it is the driver door lock wont work and the driver door lock does not work on my last ranger I wanted to know if this is a simple fix or if other people have had this problem.

It does not have power locks. I forgot to say that it is the key that won't turn and it was the same thing in the last ranger.
