Bought a Ranger for the Gambler 500

Found a 96 Ranger with a salvage title and a blown clutch on Craigslist the other day. 500 bucks later it was mine. I'm pretty handy when it comes to working on cars but I've been a Dodge owner my whole life and figured I'd join a community of folks who cumulatively know everything there is to know about Ford Rangers. My goal is to fix it up and enter it into the Gambler 500 with a buddy of mine. Chances are I'll be needing some help from this community.

When you do the clutch, make sure you get the right pressure plate that's self adjusting.
There is also a specific procedure to bleeding the slave/master cylinder if it comes to that.

Got it. I’ll keep that in mind.

I bled the system as instructed in the Haynes manual but I do remember reading somewhere that it was a pain. Is there more to it than loosening the bleed valve and having my girlfriend pump the cluch while I try not to get covered in hydraulic fluid?

Thanks

Yes, a lot more, here's the best video on it.

It's almost as if Ford forgot to install the line and then just routed it up and down _ all over the place to trap air.
It's a PITA.

Gotcha. Yeah I noticed the hard line off the master cylinder doubles back on itself behind the frame rail the runs back to the slave. Weirdest thing I’ve seen. I’m going to pull the trans sometime soon and replace everything that has to do with the clutch. I appreciate the advice.
