Cap/Topper for Ranger
Cap/Topper for Ranger
Im going this afternoon to look at a cap/topper for my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4.0 V6. the guy that has this cap/topper says it came off of a Ford Ranger Stepside with a 6 ft. bed. My Ranger is not a stepside, but it measures 72 inches (6 ft) long inside the bed with a 54 1/2-543/8 inch width. my question is will this cap fit on my bed ??? stepside shoudnt matter, correct ??? he said it has the 4 mounts. is that the clamps ?? Thanks for any help ,Mark.
Totally different beds and bed widths. Cap for a stepside will not fit a regular bed. Bed for a stepside is around 46 inches or so, much narrower than a regular bed.
Double check with the seller that he's sure of his bed. 2 types, the styleside (regular bed) and the flareside also called the stepside.
Caps are not interchangeable between them.

Grumpaw, I didnt get to read your reply untill now, and my wife and i took a short trip to look at this cap and youre exactly right just like both those pics you posted. those 2 trucks are the same color as my 2004 Ranger. that guys stepside cap was scrated up on top both everything was there and good glass and door locked with 2 keys and he only wanted $100. for it. a great buy for someone with a stepside Ranger. we are traveling tommorrow about 1hr and a half to look at another one and it is the fleetside like mine so im hoping it fits and its for a 6 ft bed like mine measures.Thank you so much for all your information and especially those 2 pics showing the differences. I really appreciate your time and knowledge. Have a great weekend.
