Cap options/sizes? stepside

I have a 99 stepside. I use to have a cap on the truck but it was ugly and not needed, so I removed it and sold it. Now 2 years later I need a cap...figures. Well I dont like that the stepside cap flares out at the cab. So I wanted to know if I could get a standard cap from another truck and use that. I know a regular ranger bed cap wont fit but what about an s-10 or nissan or toyota cap. Even if I did find something that would work how would it look? I found a picture of a stepside bed with an older aluminum cap so I know the size must be available. But I cant judge an aluminum contractor cap with a nice fiberglass one. Anyone have pics? Suggestions? Opinions on how it would look?

in my opinion just get the cap that was meant for it. The caps that don't cover the back window look like crap imo.

I bought mine from Leer and it fits great yea it has the wings at the front but you use what you got. It's a great place to set your beer when playing in the back.

To answer your question I don't know of any with the bead rails so narrow a regular cap wouldn't sit very well I guess you could make something to extend the width and set something on that.
There use to be a company that made one that stepped out at the rails but I searched everywhere and couldn't find any reference to who made it
