I have a 98 ford ranger xlt 4.0 runs fantastic has 135,000 miles on it and plan on using it for a truck to take on long runs that are over 50k so i dont have to pay for a hotel lol

 

So does that mean you consider a 49,000 mile run a short run

 

lol of course we run alot and i think it be a good truck and a 50k is 31 miles i guess ishould have said that as we like miles not k

 

Ahh, A marathon run of 50k, that makes a lot more sense.

As a truck driver, I think of a run, as any time I drive from point A to point B no matter the distance.

When I say I'm going to run to the store, that means drive to the store.

 

yea im used to it so didnt think about it lol so are 98 good trucks?

 

You should have the 4.0 OHV (overhead valve) in 98, they are a little under powered, but a good solid and reliable engine.

Keep up on the oil changes and you should get several years and miles out of it.

 

Thnak you and it does have he 4.0 and itsa great little truck so far oil changes are always done on time so good there
