Hey yall Im new to the forum and planning a 2.5l swap into a 2002 Ranger XLT stepside. I really enjoy all the talk tips and tech that you guys discuss so I figured I'd jump right in.. Im from Alabama. This is my second ranger. Bought 1 off the lot in 2000 new. Went with my brother 2 years later so he could buy one new. My bro passed away about 10 years ago and I have driven the truck daily but now its time to Frankenstein it.

Welcome to the forum

2.5l SOHC Lima 4cyl engine was only used from 1998 to mid-2001 in Rangers, 119 horse power

2002 Rangers had 2.3l DOHC Duratec 4cyl engine, 143 horse power, or 3.0l or 4.0l SOHC engines

What does the 2002 Ranger have in it now?

Re: 2.5l in my 2002 ranger

Its the 2.3l duratec. Im swapping a 2.5l from a 2015 fusion into the truck. I have all the information I think I need to get this started but its gonna be a pretty lengthy project. Tuning it afterwards is the part Im hung up on the most. Its something I dont have much knowledge about.
