Fuel problem

I have a 97 ranger 2.3. it starts then dies unless you throttle it or spray b12 in the breather but dies as soon as you stop. Fuel pressure is 35 to 40 at the Schrader valve while running but drops to 0 when it dies so don't know why if the gas is there why it doesn't use it. About ready to fill it full of tannerite and call it a day. Need help
