Aloha - 2000 3.0 XLT A/T
Hi from Hawaii all. My name is Johnny and I just bought my 2000 Ranger, perfect little commuter truck for me.
I bought it to replace my trusty Toyota, which I've just finished turning into a rock crawler. After a couple months of searching I found this green XLT with a white camper top and 106,000mi on it. I'm nit very experienced with these vehicles but I am pretty good with a wrench so I'm looking forward to using these forums as a resource.
I've got a few kinks to sort out and if there are any stickys I should read I'd love to hear about them - namely regarding transmission shifting. I read a about the known issue for the 4r44e commonly needing to be rebuilt, and I already have experienced erratic shifting on the freeway as well as a prolonged hesitation getting into reverse. I'll check out the drivetrain forum too.
Anyhow, I'm excited to be a member here and looking forward to getting to know my way around at ranger-forums.
