Icon10 Greetings Y'all!

Names Harry,

Happy owner of a 2006 2.3, 4cyl, 5spd ranger. I have done most of my maintanance off of many of y'alls posts just by looking and reading on this forum and some other, but primarily tr-f. I am member on many other forums and have tried to resist joining another one because i spend allot of time reading on forums. Otherwise, I have owned the truck for over a year and love it.

Truck is white, single cab and used to be a work truck but pretty clean. Just broke over 100k on it and it still chugs along just fine. Not happy with the brakes but they work well enough. Need to change the water pump soon, but i'm holding out. I don't like the differential either but i love the gas mileage so im not complaining (25-27 avg, mostly freeway miles). Soon to inherit a white Jason Camper top, pretty stoked about it! I want to make a platform so i can store my tools under and sleep on top if i need to. I am a very avid outdoorsman. I hunt and fish as much as life allows me to. I would very much like to set up the truck for just that and maybe....just maybe one day... mod the truck to 4wd with some mazda/ford goodies or just swap the dif and axle to a sort of LSD so i can better fish the trout streams of NG. I don't really go muddin', though i used too. Too spensive these days to replace parts and get put into some good rubber. Don't confess to knowing too much other than the little fixes i've done but i would love to hear what y'all have done/learned along the way. Would very much like to add a small tailgate hitch to the frame and get a small jon boat one day.

Prior auto experience is with a '98 ford windstar, 3.8 v-6(first car :D and drove the heck out of it from HS through college), honda element 03, f150 2003 lariat triton, jeep wrangler/cherokee 4cyl and 6. and a bunch of old VW bugs. I know its pretty spread out but i'm poor and its based off entirely from what vehicles my family has owned. My knowledge is limited, i am self taught. Mostly quick fixes from youtube like oil changes, brakes, sensors, cat conv, water pumps. I have helped a buddy work on his cherokee and we replaced the rear susp, dif, tans axle, front suspension mostly offroad mods so i at least "understand" how things work for the most part.

Over all i am a "tinkerer" in everything that i do. I love DIY. Have expansive knowledge of firearms, fishing, hiking and bushcraft. Wouldn't say i'm a end of the world prepper or anything. I just love the outdoors and being able to survive on/with a shoestring if i want to or have to. I'm an eagle scout, was a completion cadet up in dahlonega and graduated recently. Just looking for work and DIY jobs to keep occupied.

But enough about me, looking forward to some new projects and helping/learning allot along the way.

Best,
Harryman
