Hello

Hello everyone little backstory I got my shitbox ahhem ummm...ranger about mid 2020 I love it to death I don’t care what anyone tells me it’s a great truck. When I got it I actually didn’t even know how to drive it guy pulled it up to my house and parked it in my drive where it sat for about a week till I decided I need to stop procrastinating and being a chicken so I got in it started him up and then a fedex truck came past my house (dead end drive narrow street it’s important) I got her midway into the road and then stalled it I started back up gave it more gas and started going. I only planned on going up the street and back down just to get a feel for it but when I reached the end of the road fedex man came up behind me. I was forced to go down the street. To my embarrassment I stalled probably 4-5 times before I got it passed the stop sign but then I got it and decided if I can get this far I’m gonna take it to the training road (you know that road where everyone in your town goes to learn how to drive Stick) as it wasn’t too far from where I live and I could take backroads without having to stop and embarrass myself. Well I made it to the training grounds and about 10 minutes into my trying to learn one of the few residents on that street came out to watch me gave me a few pointers and about an hour later I was driving around stop and go with no issue (well not much I still stall every now and again if I have the radio too loud and I’m not paying attention to my clutch position and I’ve loved every second of driving choco Charlie since.

I haven’t gotten around to any performance mods I probably won’t honestly. But I’ve added a few little things like a new stereo (Walmart special of course) the one the previous owner had in it was outdated and wired EXTREMELY poorly I thought all the speakers were blown it kept going in and out on my first drive. I had a 2001 Ford Taurus broke down that had decent speakers so I replaced the old speakers with the speakers from the Taurus. I got a set of wheels from a coworker who wanted the aluminum wheels that were on it it was the same exact looking rims just the ones he gave me was r15 instead of r14 and his were painted black worked out for me because I wanted a bit more height it’s not much more height but it’ll do for now. My headliner was completely gone almost non existent aside from under the visors and I decided to take a crack at it. It came out extremely well it looks factory to me aside from a little hole under one of the visors. Then I ordered some led strips from Amazon and got that in since my cab light was broken I stuck all the wiring between the roof and the headliner it came out pretty good. While christmas shopping this year me and the wife stopped at Ross and I happened to find a set of off-road lights (you know the round ones with the little cage around it) I was checking them out for awhile but decided to pass to save money even though they were cheap. Well she noticed and low and behold Christmas Day what do I got under the tree? That’s right the same lights i decided to pass on I got that in and wired it up and couldn’t be happier with em for 9 bucks I’m surprised the quality (from Ross of all places).

That’s about everything I can think of right now I’ve got plans for ol’ choco Charlie this year which include a little bodywork and paint I’ll be sure to document and post when I can and I’ll post pictures of the progress so far when I can as well.
