Hello all!

Hello all! I'm new here. I live in eastern Canada. Just picked up an 03 Ranger Edge as a donor vehicle for a project . I have owned Rangers in the past, an plan on also replacing my Ram with one in the future. I look forward to talking and sharing info with you all. Thanks for having me.

Welcome, where in Eastern Canada do you live !
I have relations in Novi.

You will find a good bunch of people here, some know a lot and some like me think I do !
I also own an '03 EDGE but the suspension has been changed a lot, no T-Bars, lifted, new Super Lift drive shaft.

Rangers are great trucks, the new one looks capable but the over all look is not for me, I may not be a Ford Guy too much longer. (Looking at 4Runners and Tacomas)

You said, "Just picked up an 03 Ranger Edge as a donor vehicle for a project", what is the PROJECT ?

Also, the redesigned RAM looks kind of nice but the price tag is way too high for my tastes.

Ha ha! You're not gonna like it, but the motor and transmission and all the electronics are going in a 82 Chevette, the frame is being saved for a 47 Ford pick-up. My ram is a 02, I'll probably stick with a Ranger around that vintage to drive. I'm cheap . Lol . I have 4 kids so I have to be. We live in P.E.I.

Sound like a lot of work bth in the projects and the FOUR KIDS !

The 47 Project sounds interesting, the '82 Chevette, funny for sure, a Ford motor n a Chevy, I understand that, I was building a HiPo 289 for a street machine, didn't have a car yet but I thought that would be the easy part.

A friend was into Chebbies and had a fiberglassed nosed 66 Chevy II Coupe, Not sure but I think one of the last Chevy II, his plan was a 402, built for drag racing but things fell to pieces when he had an unexpected baby, and then another... WTF !
I got the car for a song, a short song, wasn't going to put Chebby in it in fact I was just going to resell it when I got the idea of my 289 going in it... I mounted it up with a four speed stone crusher, and got her running, ran pretty strong and surprised a few people when I walked away from them in the short drag area we all used. I would open the hood and Wham-Bam... "IT's A FORD" ! So I'm with ya on the idea.

Good luck on the projects !

Ltr

Thanks for the welcome. I like Rangers and Mustangs , and a lot of older Fords, but I'm not a Ford man. Chevettes are my favorite car , for some odd reason. I picked the Ranger drivetrain because first and foremost, It's very tough and reliable, second, in my part of the world, very cheap and plentiful. And last because I think it will be a good fit for the car. It's almost triple the power, it will give me fuel injection, no change in weight, and I like to be different! LOL Now I just have to find a Ranger to drive .
