Hello from Dayton Nevada
Hey all,
I guess it's high time I join the Ranger forum since I have two '97 2.3 2wd Rangers.
My first one is not only the most reliable vehicle that I've owned, but it's the most reliable vehicle I've ever heard of.
Okay, no kidding (I wouldn't make it up, because I don't like the truck all that much)
270,000 miles, and it has had a grand total of TWO repairs. Replaced a thermostat that stuck open. Throw out bearing died at 240k, so I just put in a whole new clutch assembly since I was down there (even though the OEM clutch probably still had 60% left)
Seriously, I've never heard of a vehicle that reliable.
My other '97 2wd is mostly why I'm here. Money is tight, and I need to do my own work when I can. The second one was bought VERY used, and the owner lived down a dirt road, so that wasn't kind to the under side of the vehicle. So hopefully the car-Yoda's can help me out.
Looking forward to meeting others.
DL
