New to Forum. Have 2003 4x4 Ranger with 72,000 miles. Looking for info on steering column shifter very stiff.

Normal complaint is loose shifter, but that being said someone may have tried to fix it and did too good of a job, lol.

Google: ford column shifter repair
Rangers, Explorers, F-150s, F-250s, ect.............all use the same setup so look at a few of the videos and How-tos to see how the system works.

Could be shift cable needs to be lubed, or outside sheath of the cable has split or the shift linkage in the trans has the problem.
