Hello from MA

Hello everyone,
I'm JD, I got my first truck last summer, a 2003 4.0L 4x4 Ranger. It's not in the best condition, but it was in my price range. That being said, it's had some issues, nothing too serious, but I know that I'll be putting some time into fixing it. I'm mainly here to learn more about these trucks and how to fix them up and improve their life span. I look forward to becoming an avid member of this forum.

I currently go to school in Lowell, MA. We're less than half an hour from each other. :P

We also have almost identical vehicles. '03 Edge, extended cab, 4.0L SOHC V6 Auto, 4x4, bed cover. Even the same tires, I think.

I like it thus far. It's had some problems, but I've fixed most of them. My 4wd hasn't been working great, and I believe I've gotten the issue down to the transfer case, so I need to look into that. Any advice?

It makes a grinding noise that based on another thread on this site, I diagnosed it as the TC. And I needed to be pushed out of the snow, and my buddy who pushed said that the 4wd wasn't performing.

Ouch. I wouldn't know what to do other than replacing it. ask in different section of forum, maybe someone can give you some advice.
