Icon7 Hello from the Middle East!

First before you ask no I'm no Arab. I'm serving the in the greatest fighting force in the world the U.S. Army! Enough about that and on with the details of what I got. I have a 2003 Red 3.0L with the Tremor package all stock with the exception of the Yellow Cap Optima battery (I had to replace the stock one b/c of my last deployment, it wasn't getting the love while I was away). Everything else is still stock. When I get back this time in March I plan on throwing down some of my hard earned money on a new K&N 57 Series Gen II Air Intake Kit, and Cat-Back system. All suggestions are welcome as to what brands would be the best to go with. I was thinking about maybe going with the JBA EVOL or the Gibson - Dual Extreme Exhaust. But anyways, I will continue to do what the senior members suggested and use the coveted "Search Button"! Look forward to reading some more and learning a whole lot.

Hooah!

he's probably saying that because an intake gives you next to no power its just more money your spending on it for nothing. All it really is is an expensive piece of plastic.

Ohhh and welcome to R-F and I can't thank you enough for what you are doing for this country.

It is an ongoing debate around here, one of many. You wont get a noticable boost out of it, because as it is, the stock ranger system is a cold air intake. As well, the stock airbox provides more than enough flow for the engine. Unless you supercharge it, or spend most of your time above 3500 rpm, spend the money on something else like a tuner.
But anyways, welcome to the site, and stay safe.

Welcome to the site

I have a K&N intake. I love it I noticed a difference. My truck runs a lot cooler also.

Before I put it on my truck temp gauge was in the middle now it sets about 3 clicks to the left of middle.

Thank You!

Thanks for all the welcome's and thanks for the support you guys provide to us. Ill be posting some pics later in the right forum of some Hajji Police Rangers out here. Some of you might notice me from the other site I'm on RangerPowerSports.com I'm using both to really learn alot about what I can do and not do to my truck, but this is the first I have heard about "No on the Intake" an I guess I'll take it under advisement. I was going to order my parts prior to leaving here so they are waiting on me when I get home. But once again Thanks!
