Welcome !

Not much out there for a Lift for the Rangers, sucks actually, but SuperLift was the only go-to for a while.

Good Luck on your lift.

Hey thanks for the info. I have been looking and if I am not miss guided. I think I'm going to go just crank the torsion, add a leaf and get new extended shocks. Probably bilsteins. Well that's kinda what I was thinking. Just so I can get bit bigger tires and not mess with too much.

IMHO... I think you are miss guided on the Torsion Bar Crank (TBC) !
You will end up with a truck that doesn't ride well at all !
The TBC will tighten the front end up, there will be no movement in the bars because they are twisted more than they should be !

Its your move but think on it, maybe wait until you can afford an actual Lift Kit !

Everyone has their favorite shocks, I don't, I converted to the Coil-Over setup in the front a while back and it makes a big difference in the ride and control of the truck. I believe the kit I used, not the recent one, was designed to fit with the SuperLift Front End Kit, it replaces parts from the kit and in turns works with the Lifted rear.

I know the SuperLift Front End Kit can be purchased separately from the rear kit so you can do the front end SuperLift and the rear can be anything you want.

I used the Hy-Jacker Rear Leaf Springs, but I think the '8 Ranger have a different size Bolt for the rear springs and you can't use their springs.

Sorry to keep writing about this but I think the Rangers look great with 4 to 6 inches of lift and an FX4 is one of the best Rangers so you will be happy with the look but watch the ride quality !

Hey thanks for all the info scrambler82! Ya probably am miss guided I thought that lifting with after market torsion keys were bad and cranking them were not so bad. Ya I was looking to do a small lift(1-2inch) and try not to spend to much.
were have you seen a superlift front end kit from. I looked around and couldn't find just front end kit. I am not doing anything till I look at all options.

Thanks for for all your help.

The AfterMarket Torsion Keys (ATK) are better than just cranking the OEM Keys !
The ATK's are setup to do two things, One is reposition the original Torsion Bar so you don't over tighten it and two they have a little more adjustment to them.
Most ATK's give you about 1.5"-2" MAX Lift !

I would have to look around again, but I thought I saw a Front Kit on one of the Ranger Sites.
If I see something I will post up !

Also, I know the kits are expensive, but what you get is a better ride overall with something like the SuperLift Kit or Kits, and usually you get all of the parts you need.

If you happen to find a rear kit... and the problem with the rear kit is they suggest using Double Blocks, 4+ inches of block between the Spring and the Rear Axle. A lot of people don't get the rear kit and replace the spring with a couple of options.

But 12 Degrees North Just started stocking a Lift kit for the Rangers, check it out... but it is pricey at $999. I don't know anything about the actual kit, so check it out, it's an option/ !

Web Site: http://www.12degnorth.com/

Kit Here: https://www.12degnorth.com/product-p...ift-system-4wd

Added: From the SuperLift Web Site the Kit looks available BUT cost more than the Rough Country from 12 Degree North.
Not cheap anymore to lift a truck.

Cool I never came across that 12deg north site. Doesn't look to bad in price.

I was leaning to go with supreme suspension
https://supremesuspensions.com/products/1997-2011-ford-ranger-full-add-a-leaf-rear-suspension-lift-kit-extended-bilstein-shocks-4wd?rq=yr_2008~mk_ford~md_ranger&variant=191670701 2618. Not sure tho.

Looking at the kit you posted, to me... and from years of reading about lifting Ranger and some of the honor stories I have heard, the less you try to do to lift your Truck the worse the end result will be. Not thinking just the actual lifted truck, you need to take the ride quality in to consideration as well, you will start to hate that little truck really fast if it isn't riding smooth enough.
You will never get a Lifted Ranger to ride like a car but some actions will result in a harder ride; i.e. just cranking the T-Bar Keys.

When you are talking $630 for helper springs and new keys and shocks, then an extra $350 for new Knuckles and a drop kit for the differential isn't bad and you can put on approximately 33" tires.

The Kit you want:

"2x Front Lift Steel Torsion Keys
2x Rear Add-A-Leafs
2x Front Bilstein Shocks
2x Rear Bilstein Shocks
Installation instructions"

The 12 Degrees North Kit:

Front:
Front Crossmember
Lifted Knuckles
Skid Plate
Differential Brackets
Torsion Drop Brackets
Sway Links
Extended Brake Lines

Rear:
Rear Crossmember
Differential Brackets
Bump Stops
Brake Line Brackets
Anti-Wrap Rear Blocks
U-Bolts

Shocks:
(4) Premium N3 Series Shocks

New Front Drive Shaft Suggested... $400 !

All I am saying is this... don't do it half way !
Save some extra money and do it right, either the Rough Country Kit or a SuperLift Kit, which has served me well !
You will be talking:
1) Lift Kit $999 - (There are Kits on the Web all the time, look around) !
2) Front Drive shaft - $400 (I found mine used for $250)
3) After a while you might need new shocks... I did but that doesn't mean you will.
4) The labor to install it. This kit need a pro to install it or a very competent Backyard Mechanic, think on it !

The price keeps going up and I am not trying to discourage you from lifting the Ranger, but spending $600 + then pulling it out for another lift is good money after bad to me.

I don't know your money situation, mine I worked hard for, when I worked, so I can't really tell you this or that is the best way, that is something you need to sit down and look at.

My SuperLift, very similar to the Rough Country Lift, has finally worked itself out to a point where it rides decent enough and I can live with the overall setup. I just haven't had time to do anything to the truck over the last few years, moving to SoCal, remodeling a house stem to stern, and building a new barn.
Was it worth the original money, right now I would say yes but when I got mine installed and I changed out a few things I didn't think so. I also changed to a large tube 31 spline rear axle (FX4) but I had problems with shocks, the ride, and server bump steer. Only recently have I had big enough break in my remodeling of a new house in SoCal, did I take it to a suspension shop, AND Wham-Bam, it rides decent. Morel of my story is use the parts that come with the kit and see where that goes before trying to re-engineer the kit and screw things up !

OK, I will let you go, think on it is all I am saying, if possible, find someone that has done the same lift to their Ranger orang truck, and ride it, then determine what you think. A Ranger looks good, jacked and 33" tires, 35" tire with a body lift... but that's another story !
Good Luck on your decision, make it wisely !

Ya I guess it's true you get what you pay for. I wasn't looking to lift it more then a couple inches but I am looking for the option of less problems down the road.
I am really liking the 12 degree north kit. I guess you have convinced me to have a little more patiences and save up. Seems like a decent price. Are the shocks that come with it any good?

thanks again for all your input help.

Help is what the Site is about.

Waiting is good, you get a second chance to look at your information and make the choice again, or a different choice !

Good Luck on your choice, think on it !

Ya found a place up in Canada not far from my place that looks like they have what I need. https://www.lowriders.ca/i-23901111-43130-5-inch-ford-suspension-lift-kit.html

So I'll be saving up and keep looking into options.

Yup, that's the kit, Rough Country, price is the same... but is the $999, in US or Canadian money ?

Either way, double check on the Reviews on this kit, sometimes, lees money DOES translate to less quality !

Good Luck, sounds like a plan !

Here's the Superlift complete suspension kit for 2008 Ranger FX4.

Superlift® - 4" x 3" Master Front and Rear Suspension Lift Kit

With this lift kit you can run up to 33" x 12.5" offroad tires. On some of the later model, the stock driveshaft may come in contact with the exhaust. Superlift's driveshaft will gain the clearance needed.

That is the same kit they have always had and it is very similar to the Rough Country, which is a better kit... don't know !
I do like the looks of the Lowering Brackets in the Rough Country Kit !

Yup that store is in Canada but prices r in us currency.

I havnt seen seen any reviews for the ruff county's lift kit. Only things I've found have been from themselves.

what's the difference between the super lift and ruff country. I like the price of the ruff country and look.

Carid do you guys ship to Canada and if so how much and is there fees for crossing the boarder?
