Hello & Question

Hello all! I am new here and have a quick question. I am currently looking at buying a 98 Ranger, extended cab, 4.0, 195,000 miles, newly rebuilt manual transmission and new clutch with less than 5000 miles. The trucks body is in good with just a few scratches and dings. The current owner says that he has had the truck about a year and it does not leak or use any oil and that he is only selling because he has a new baby and needs a bigger vehicle. From information given, what is your thoughts? I can get the truck for $3000.00. The link to the vehicle is http://athensga.craigslist.org/cto/2751256643.html Also I live in north Ga and if you have a better deal please don't hesitate to let me know!

Thanks for any input!
Daniel

Welcome to the site!

$3,000 is a little more then I would spend. I would do like $2,500.

Welcome to the site! The price doesn't sound too bad... but I agree that $2500 would be closer to what it should go for. What are similar trucks going for in your area?

Thanks for the response everyone! I wound up buying a 98 extended cab, stepside, 2WD, 4 cyl., 140,xxx miles from a local, seemingly trustworthy guy for $3200.00. So far it's running out very well, no leaks and doesn't seem to use any fluids. Great gas mileage too!
