Hey brothers

Disabled Combat Veteran here hoping to learn and help as aslHave a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT with only 115,000 OG miles on it. Has the 2.3l in it, currently dealing with Crank/No Start issue. I'm about to start taking a crack at it.

Welcome to the forum

1992 2.3l SOHC Lima engine
It used a Timing Belt, which needs to be replaced every 80k miles or so, no engine damage occurs if it breaks or slips
Peak behind the top of the timing belt cover and have some one crank the engine over to make sure cam is turning

If possible test one cylinder for compression, over 150psi is expected, under 120psi means belt has slipped

50/50 test
Spray fuel into the intake manually
Try to start the engine
If it starts, runs and dies, spark is OK but no fuel from injectors
If it doesn't start/fire, then no spark(or no/low compression)

Watch the CEL(check engine light)
CEL comes on with key on, that means Computer has powered up OK
CEL goes OFF as soon as starter motor starts to turn engine over, that means computer is getting a good timing pulse from crank sensor, no pulse means no fuel and often no spark
