I am close to pulling a trigger on 2008 Ford Ranger it has had one owner. I always wanted one. The truck has a regular cab about 40,000 miles on it and automatic 2.3L 4 Cylinder Engine. I was looking at it last night very clean truck but in the engine compartment I saw some signs of rust or yellowing on the metal bar in front of the radiator just a little. I mentioned this to the dealer and of course he fluffed it off. Am I being too picky? I know it hard to say without seeing yourself but wanted to see if you guys/gals have any thoughts on this. Thanks!

Do you have pics of the rust spot you saw? I can't imagine an 08 already getting surface rust.

 

Welcome...the truck will sell quickly, that's why the dealer can foofoo you off.

 

i know my frame horns in front of the radiator (same truck but 09) were covered in a grease like substance that came off the first time i pressure washed the truck and had a very faint coat of serface rust after a couple weeks just sanded em down and shot with some black primer.

the parts of the frame next to the round thing on each side where the bumper would normaly be.

 

No sorry I don't have any pictures. I agree with 01 RangerEdge should not be showing any signs of rust but it is very minor though.
