You're close. I did check and make alot of phone calls and did some test driving with a Dodge 5.7 liter hemi that has that MDS system in it. If a Full size quad cab pick up that's bone stock gets 22 mpgs then you can imagine what kind of milage I'd get considering my little ranger doesn't even come close to the weight of what I test drove. The Hemi has never been installed in an actual Ford Ranger, but has been installed in the F100 it's counter part. That little MPG Guage they installed was kool, and to answer another question I couldn't tell when it switched from 8 to 4 cylinders or vise versa at all. The only way I could tell on Ford's version the EXP model was going uphill while the engine was under a load. GM needs to go back to school or something on their version it was terrible.

Thanks Trent, No that was exploritory surgery to find out what can be done to fix the problem. I'll just live with the pain. Tired of having knee surgery. pretty much they said artheritis has set up in my left knee from where it's been hurt to many times. They want me to have a knee replacement. I said no. To answer your other question right now I'm gathering parts, asking a ton of questions (so far 90% have gone unanswered because it hasn't been done yet) and researching everything that I can. Any info I get I will pass it on in the project logs when I start the project.

The 6.1 didn't come with MDS but the 5.7 did though. It's different that's for sure. I still can't get over the fact that a full size dodge got just 2 mpgs less with no mods than what I get with Mods. Unreal how technology has changed. That damn fullsize weighs double of what I weigh. Hey Fx4 check out this link: www.glassworksunlimited.com and check out their ford product line. you'll like that's for sure. The 6.1 Liter was the SRT8 which produced 425 Hp 430 Ft Lbs stock. I'd like to use that but I have something else in mind. Indy heads have a stroker kit for the 6.1 SRT8 to a 426 hemi. But that's not what i'm using.

Oh I didn't know if you guys knew about that so one more time couldn't hurt though. L.O.L. I dread this up coming project. The wiring will be nasty to say the least. Probably end up rewiring the whole damn thing knowing my. You see I could survive a plane crash but get killed on the way to the hospital because the damn ambulance crashed. L.O.L.

Yeah you probably will. You'll probably have to run custom gauges as well since the stock ones run off of the stock computer. It will be a project thats for sure

Yep. I learned a bit more while I was away. There are 2 harnesses the main then the engine harness. The main harness won't even connect to a Mopar CPU. Secondly a huge amount of choppy choppy just to get my engine to fit. Indy Cylnder Heads has a crate motor line up that far exceeds GM which says something. They got 5 catagorys and at least 6 or 7 engines in each catagory. Now I remember why they call "it" an elephant. I'll probably end up making my own headers too. One things for sure it will be a first in a ranger ever.
