Introduction to The Forum
Greetings:
My name is Lloyd and I just joined the Ranger Forum today. I also just bought a used 2000 Ranger XL, 3.0, 5 Speed last Saturday. For some strange reason, the truck looks like a remote control car to me :-). I have had a ton of fun driving it so far...but have some work to do. So, initially, I changed the oil (Oreilly's Brand) and tranny fluid (Oreilly's Brand), installed new spark plugs (Motorcraft, runs a little better), and installed a new air filter (whatever that brand is a Oreilly's).
Now, I have to change the drive shaft U-Joints (seat vibration between 30 and 40 and then continuous after around 55, the normal clanking noise when you shift gears...but I did notice the vibrations is more pronounced when the clutch pedal is depressed...hopefully, I have diagnosed the problem correctly?).
I am not new to Fords, been driving them my entire life...1973 Ford Maverick was my very first car. Anyway, look forward to being a benefit and a benefactor to and from the site. I'm in the Belleville, IL area if anyone is close.
