Keeping my '01 Ranger / Selling my '14 F-150
Yep I was 50/50 on the fence the last few weeks, but have decided to keep my '01 Ranger.
I figure my Rangers been all paid up since forever. Good Ol' "Truckie" (the name my now college aged kids gave my truck back in our Juneau, AK days when they were little). Ol' "Truckie" has that "engine rattle" plus has some rusted out rocker panels. But man, ...just wants to keep on running.
Putting my 2014 F-150 XLT, Supercrew, 4x4 up for sale later today and will be getting rid of that fat monthly payment. My plan is to run Ol' Truckie till the wheels fall off and all the while, save up my cash for one of the new Rangers down the road. Yup, ...the bank can kiss my butt.
I'm no mechanic, but I get by with the help off of fellow Ranger owners' how-to videos on you tube and the wealth of information on sites like your "Ranger-Forums" site. I've found that I've been able to do most minor repairs by myself at home in my garage.
Heck, I've already found by searching on here that it's a better route to raise your bed to install a new fuel filler neck instead of trying to drop the fuel tank. I've been soaking my 6 bed bolts with penetrating oil for the past few days. Now I just gotta' go dig myself up a piece of cheater pipe for some added leverage for my breaker bar. (T-55 socket - ...check)
.
So thanks already for the great info.

I'm new as well. Got my first Ranger in Fairbanks back in '12, and got my current one here in Florida last year. It is a 99 4x4 Off Road, as was the '01 I had in Alaska. I am still trying to figure out how they wore the AC out on the Alaskan one. :)
Man it sure was tough not being able to rinse off the undercarriage very often up in Alaska when the roads would get salted in the winter. I guess the same goes for Ranger owners living in our Northern states as well.
