2011 ranger 6 cylinder. engine ran without coolant went unnoticed due to temp gauge bad. got new temp gauge and thermostat housing. now engine runs extremely loud and noisy ....help me fellas.

 

Over heating an engine is no good. Loud and noisy could mean a damaged engine do to over heating.

 

What type of loud? Mine was really loud (like engine loud not muffler loud) found out someone drilled a hole in my catalytic converter. I had that fixed a couple weeks ago and everyone I know was like “That’s sooo much quieter”
