Me & Machines
Hi everyone on Ranger Foums !
I just recently moved back to the US after living in Japan for 3 years. I've since purchased my first motor vehicle, which also happens to be my first truck. And I'm new to manual transmission but really enjoying the challenge. I've got a lot to learn so I plan on being a fairly active member. I drive a 4X2 2.3l. engine beauty !

Welcome
Before it comes up in traffic I would find a hill where you can practice starting off while facing uphill, without rolling backwards too much, lol.
And get into the habit of taking your foot off the clutch pedal, many new manual trans drivers use the pedal as a foot rest, this causes clutch disc to slip and wear out faster even though you don't feel it.
After paying $600+ for new clutch you WILL feel it

Also be aware if it has factory clutch that it is self adjusting so it won't really show any signs of wear it will just go out. When it comes time to change it i would suggest going with a non self adjusting clutch so you can feel in the pedal when its starting to wear.
