New 1st gen owner

Hey all, I just got a 1986 Ranger 2wd 4 banger, I'm a little ashamed of myself for buying a ford but it happens and I figure here I can get all the information I need on it haha.

I will put up some pictures up next week when I get a break but for now I would really just like to know how long the stock motors and trannys last on these. Also are there problem areas I should look out for?

Yeah I noticed that on the drive home but I've got plenty of stereo stuff left over from past cars so I will work something out.

Also no one has said anything about the mileage of these trucks...

I'd rather have to fuel mileage of the 2.0 and leave the power to my Camaro's

WHAT...
what do you mean...
i loved my AM radio...

NOT!!!

them first gen Rangers you can beat on them, and beat on them, and beat on them, and they keep running... you may have to talk a little dirty to it. and on cold days you'll have to sweet talk it. and here and there give it a good pat on the dash.

oh never kick it... it kicks back...

Yeah I had the privilege of listening to the factory radio on the way back today and it was a treat, it's been a while since I had to operate a turn **** to find my station...

I'm hoping it will take a beating because I intend to put a few miles on it haha
