New Edge Owner from Alabama, with questions!

About myself, name's Jason and I've in North Alabama for nearly 41 years! Enough about me, onward to the Edge:

OK, it's not new, but it is to me! Just picked up a 2003 Sonic Blue Super Cab, 4.0, 4x4, 5-speed, loaded Edge yesterday!

Few problems with the Ranger, it take about 5-10 seconds to start up, but runs absolutely awesome, once it fires up! I've read a few things online about it's the fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, etc? I've bought most of the before mentioned, but haven't put any of it on yet.

Another problem, noticed this morning, that it was leaking something on the right side, near the front of the engine? I'm assuming it's anti-freeze? It looks/feels like the consistency of water, but doesn't taste that great, LOL! After a little research, most people are saying cracked water pump?

Any ideas on either of my problems? Thanks! Jason

Welcome to R-F! It has been pretty slow around here lately, so please don't be offended.

You may have better responcibility to your technical questions by posting them in the technical section.

If you have a leak.. crawl under the truck and try to pinpoint where it is coming from. Fluids can fall down and travel over parts and then hit the ground making it a little more difficult to pinpoint it's origin.

If it's coolant, I believe it should taste sweet. If it's just dirty water.. maybe condensation from running your A/C? Check your coolant levels.. are they low? Running hot?

If you can post pics of the leak/fluid leaking, we could have something to look at and better diagnose what's going on. I have had water leaks before and that's what it sounds like to me but again, can't see the fluid or where the leak may be coming from. Pics=awesome!
