I have been a VW guy for about 18 years. Only vehicle I owned that wasn't a VW was a 1980 Toyota Corolla my Dad go for me for graduation....until now. I have owned 24 different VW models over the years , all watercooled. I just bought a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3L Manual (standard cab/ step side) for winter use as I don't want to drive my GTI in the winter, plus some asshat dinged my door at work . So I come here for info, and knowledge. I'm pretty familiar with forums as I am on a couple VW ones so I do know the search function lol. Exterior of the vehicle is pretty solid for it's age, has 150K on it. Mechanically it looks like it was well maintained and there are a butt load of receipts from recent work. Interior...YIKES!! . Previous owners smoked (I don't) and the seats and door panels are pretty trashed. So I'll be checking our local salvage/ U-pull it yards for replacements. Main question I have is what are the compatible years for this Ranger that I can rob parts from? I am also looking to maybe add "Sport/Edge" front bumpers as I like those better and I can add factory looking fogs. I know there are after market options, I'm just big on OEM looks. Also the headlight are craptastic as far as light output so I have seen on here either Sylvania Xtra visions or Phillips Extremes are the bulbs to use. Lights probably need aiming too so that's on the list as well. Thanks in advance for any info or advise provided.
