New to me 1994 Ranger!

Just bought a Ranger last night as a weekend warrior.

1994 Extended-cab 4.0L 4x4 5-speed. It has the stepside bed.

One question I have is what is part of the STX package as the truck has the badge, just not sure if it was stuck on there.

Needs some minor work (valve cover gasket, exhaust leak and rear u-joint) but over all its a nice truck.

Some minor rust on the bumpers that I plan to take care of this weekend.

PS my neighbor hood is filled with Rangers (as there is one across the street, and probably 7-8 on the street), so hello if you recognize the area!

How can you tell, not that I disagree since I have no clue, but I have looked the STX and there was an extended-cab with a stepside version?

I can't figure out STX means on than side graphics which mine doesn't have, doesn't have any graphics at all.

Its probably a replacement bed or just a stick on badge on the tailgate but I was just wondering.

SAS'ed? Is that solid axle swap? I am not into the trucking/off-roading lingo yet as this is my first truck. My other vehicles are a Mazdaspeed 3 and a Toyota Corolla.

Stone is right that is a splash. With the splash model it is all color matched with no chrome. Truck isn't sas'd either it has the TTB axle which is like a solid axle, but also like IFS. It's right in between the two.

Yeah I will be posting some more pictures soon. Going to be going to buy some of the parts tonight and doing some of work this weekend.

Needs the e-brake to be tightened or the shoes replaced too.

Edit, here is a picture from the wife's facebook that she took,

looks nice

the STX bed looks stepsideish, but it's not as far in as the stepside, and not quite flat, like the style side, kinda a moderator between the two

I dont think they made STX rangers until like 05 or something. The Splash is basically the older version of the Edge, which is now the Sport, which is color matched bumpers and power accessories?

I don’t know for sure but I drove an ’88 STX/5.0l Ranger for five years. ( I put the 5/0L in)
If Ford didn’t make it, someone did a good job on the graphics and the bucket seats.

Got me ?

That would be me.

That truck is a splash, I am pretty sure the STX's were two tone in the 90's

Looks good.

Take the VIN and see what you get in one of those VIN chaser programs.

The Vin isn't going to tell him the trim level on the truck.
