New member, but have owned my Ranger about 4 years. It is a 2000, 3.0 Liter, 4x4, 175k + mileage. Had a problem with the ABS system. At about 5-10 mph the brakes would release, no pulsing or anything, just no brakes. They would finally engage and stop the vehicle. Took it to the dealership which said the ABS module was bad (didn't say what the code was). When they tried to replace it they said their computer (Gen 2) wouldn't communicate with the truck so they couldn't program it and they put the original module back in. They pulled the fuse to get the brakes to work. Has anyone heard of anything similar or is the dealership just giving me BS?
