New Ranger Owner
New Ranger Owner
Hello All,
I'm the new owner of a 2002 Ranger Edge 4x4 3.0L Std. Cab.
I bought this truck with 135K miles on it as a winter vehicle since my daily driver is now a RWD BMW 335is with 19" 35 series tires. Hence, the car stays in the garage for the winter.
I thought I was buying winter transportation and something to haul materials for our house renovation but I think I now have another hobby.
Upcoming upgrades/repairs:
1. Bilstein Shocks
2. Timing Cover Gasket Repair
3. Oil Pan/Rear Main Seal Repair
4. Cam Synchronizer (Not sure if its ever been done.)
5. Power Windows, Locks, Mirrors, Keyless Entry
Looking forward to meeting you all.
John

Welcome
Rangers are good reliable pickups.
The 3.0l Vulcan engine was used from 1986 to 2008 in many Ford vehicles, not just Rangers.
It is a pickup truck so for winter driving you should throw a few bags of sand in the back, how many is up to you.
I have a board I cut that fits across the back to hold the sand bags in place in case of a sudden stop.
And the sand can come in handy it you do get stuck, lol.
