new from south Texas
Hi, I'm a newbie here, but I've had my Ranger for a little over a year. I own a 2002 silver Ranger and I love it. I'm slowly adding more things to it and I'm now looking into putting exhaust on it. I would love the sound to be middle ground, not loud but not quiet. Any recommendations? And if I worded something wrong here, I'm not very learned on the aspect of exhaust systems plus I'm a female with no guy help so I'm up for advice. Thanks all and one day I'd love to post some pics of my truck.
i would go with a dynomax super turbo muffler. this is what it sounded like with my old motor. YouTube - 4.0L OHV Exhaust Video
And Im glad you love your ranger as I love mine lol. Good to see you on the forums, and I hope you like the ranger-forums. It is a good place to learn alot about your ranger. Glad you joined. Welcome to the site.

Welcome fellow silver ranger. If you ask 1000 people here for their take on exhausts, you'll get 1000 different answers. Just know there are good points and bad to probably any exhaust work you do. I run Gibson duals and love startup, idle, and full throttle, but it can drone at times.
Thanks wildbill, lol. I figure if I hear what certain types of exhaust are called I can look them up and figure out where to start because I'm clueless, but I know what I want if that makes any sense. LOL
Yes it does sound awesome but I have a new motor now and the exhaust sounds different. And yeah he is right about the answers but be careful what you put on you want more deepness and tone rather loud and really gaughty sounding . Trust me usually when you pay good money for a muffler rather than 20 bucks on a cheep glass pack, you will usually not regret it. When it comes to an exhaust listen to a bunch of different mufflers that are on trucks with the engine you have and get of an idea of which kinds you think sound better then choose from those.
Welcome Sarah! another texan is always welcome around here.
i dont have any input for exhaust, but there are plenty of people here who should be more than happy to help you out.
you should post up some pictures of your truck. people around here are very visual haha

Well, I went and got magnaflow exhaust put on it. It wasn't quite loud enough so he did something with the piping underneath and added a tip to it. It sounds pretty good! I'll make a video and try to get it posted.
