Yeah, there are/were a few here from the UK/Scotland/Ireland, but unfortunately the trucks over there in your neck of the woods are different apparently.
Many are diesels and the gas ones are different displacements, so not quite the same.
No one here will have the exact same engine in order to advise you.

What do you have though ?

EDIT:
Just checked your personal page _ you have a 2.4 litre...
Over here for 2008 there was a 2.3, 3 and a 4 litre.
An engine is an engine with generally all the same sensors, but it may be a challenge to identify their location at times.
Things under the hood won't look the same to us at all.

And your name Iain, had to look that up, it's pretty cool !
From the old Scottish/Gaelic past _ spelled like it too.
Pronounced Ian.
Welcome to the forum !

Thanks for the welcom and info Jeff,

I currently dont have a ranger so the 2.4 is what in my two vans (one mine one hers, mines work hers is family car ;-) ) though used to run a uk2013 ranger for work.
but the reason im looking is hoping to convert my van to fully capable 4x4 using the ranger running gear as hopefuly more bits will be compatable? but again thatll be something I'll probably need uk folk with experience?

cheers

Don't know what's compatible, but I do know that swapping things around in a modern vehicle isn't easy.
The electronic fuel injection dictates that you use the entire package, the PCM for the PATS system, wiring loom, even the transmission and rear end.
PATS system (assuming there is one for 2008 in the UK) requires the lock on the steering column or in the dash match up, so that has to be changed out as well.

If the van is running the 2.4 from the same year, chances are that you can keep everything else in place, but you may still run into different bolt patterns when it comes to the trans.

And then bolting 4X4 running gear onto a rear wheel drive van, some or a lot of fabrication may be involved.

You will need advice from guys in the UK for the 2.4 and compatibility issues.
There is a member here by the name of Ron, if anyone will know, it will be him.

No longer in the yUK, but what i can say is that the Transit didn't make it over here until the last 3-5 years, the vans before that were the E series, basically all built on the truck chassis i think? (F150)
