Newbie from Michigan

Hi everyone,

My truck is a 95 extended cab Ranger 2wd prerunner, currently with a 4.0 v6 & C4 trans. Being in Michigan, winter is mod time so it's getting a 302 out of a 98 Capri, & putting a Holly sniper & cam. I'm not looking for gobs of power but more than what I currently have would be nice 😆.
Last year I added triple bypasses in front to the existing coilovers, & added swing set steering. In the rear I added coilovers to the existing triple bypasses, & replaced the Deaver leafs with a Giant 4-Link. So now, the suspension outperforms the motor.
Anyhow, super excited for this next upgrade & will definitely be tapping into y'alls knowledge & expertise!

Welcome to the forum

The 302 is a good choice its only 19" wide so fits in Ranger engine bays, and has loads of not to expensive power upgrades available
You will need a remote oil filter setup, and to use an electric fan on radiator

Thanks for the tip on the remote oil filter! Yeah a friend had this motor in his Capri so
got a really good deal on a motor that I know works lol. My first choice was efi just kept
striking out til this one became available. Sad amount of flakey people peddling their junk lol.
My truck is fully caged as well, so was trying to get a motor to work within its current
parameters.

Well, scratch that! Had a compression test done & 2 cylinders are injured.
Back to square 1. Would love to supercharge my 4.0 but have heard that's big bucks.
Guess I'm back to looking for a 5.0 efi
