No one told me that people would wave at me!

New here.
I just bought a 2001 Ranger and now I'm surprised that the other drivers are now waving at me. I know that is a general pickup truck thing here in the Midwest, but the frequency of waves is at a level of jeep owners. 2 years ago I had an F-150 and the farm trucks would wave. ...but this is nearly every Ranger in town.
I guess Ranger owners are generally good folk.

Welcome to the forum. I live in rural Georgia and truck owners almost always raise a hand to other trucks. I was surprised at how many have said something nice at red lights, parking lots and gas stations. My one effort is to keep my truck lookin' good to justify any compliment. Over 50 years ago I drove a Triumph TR3 and then a TR6. The hi-sign then was to turn on you windshield wipers (wave) or flash your lights.
My Ranger is pretty modified, and I get waves from plenty of other modified Ranger owners, and even other modified vehicle owners. Surprised you're getting waves for a stock Ranger though.
