Noob From FL (with pics and questions) 2001 XLT

Whats up guys, new guy here. Just bought an 01, 2.3L, Manual.

First off, why are there so many Ranger forums?! Haha, I'm not sure which one is the most useful, or has the best group of members so I'll ask you guys. Do you all just come here, or frequent other Ranger forums as well?

I've got a few questions, and posted some pictures as reference, so maybe you guys can point me in the right direction:

1. In the 4th picture, you can see it is missing that corner strip. Where could I get another and what would be the best, or cheapest way to go about it?

2. In the 5th picture, you can see my cruise control buttons have broken off on both sides. Anyone else have this problem? Is there an easy fix?

3. Where would you go to get floor mats? I would like just standard grey to match the interior.

Thanks for any tips!
Trey

Welcome to r-f! This site tends to be more for the off road crowd in the ranger community.

As for the parts the junkyard is your new best friend. Go play with him and treat him right and he will pay you back with all sorts of fun goodies and surprises!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

@avery Do you have any pics? I'd like to see it. I'm also not sure how I like the bug shield on the hood and the rain guards on the windows..

Welcome to the site, from Boring, Oregon!!

I'll take a stab at your questions....

I don't know why there's so darn many Ranger Forums out there.... it is a popular little truck afterall. The oldest one has been around for going on 11 years and others sorta followed suit. You're part of the big three IMO.....RF, TRS, RPS.

1. Honestly don't know. Best bet is hitting up a junkyard and seeing if you can even remove those seem covers. I don't even know the proper name. I've never seen one removed like yours is now.

2. Cruise pods...WOW! Those are some really degraded pods!! lol. I've seen terrible ones before and ones similar to yours are now. I assume the bulb burnt out of them and people decided just to start reefing on it to find out what's the issue rather than research it and do it the right way. Best solution: get new pods. eBay is a good place for those....or a junkyard/salvage yard.....or even here in the classifieds. Post up a wanted ad in the classifieds and let the pods come to you! lol.

3. Floormats... Going local is the best option. That way you've got LOTS of options right there in front of you. I prefer a carpeted mat and I trimmed it to fit so it doesn't interfer with anything and to make sure it fits the truck right. There's really really cool molded plastic ones out there..... Here's a link to a thread that talks about the Weathertech ones... https://www.ranger-forums.com/f69/de...ontent-100274/

Welcome to the site, have a look around, and remember, don't hesitate to ask questions but remember that search button is your friend! lol. Oh.....and remove that darn hood visor thing. Those are gross. lol.
