okc neeeewb looking to replace a tranny shortly

hello all. i just purchased a 01 edge extended cab and am really looking forward to putting some time into it. any ideas that yall have are definitely welcome. i know shortly i am going to have to replace the transmission ( 142k oem on the odometer) any ideas as to what i should be looking to replace it with?

Are you replacing the tranny because of the mileage or because it has gone bad?
