Just picked up a 1992 Ranger. 2.3. 4x2 Manual as a father son project. We plan on taking about a year to finish the project. It’s currently running and driving but needs work. A couple questions I have are:
Lift kits? 4”? I read that anything less would mess up the alignment.
After lift what are some wheel and tire recommendations.
I have been trying to find door lock cylinder replacements and can’t find anything for 92. The truck has two different doors. Not an issue but want to be able to lock it when do finish.
Thanks for the assistance. I will try and start a thread to document the process if that’s ok.

There were 3 generations of Rangers, well 3.5, lol
1983 to 1988 were gen 1
1989 to 1992 were gen 1.5
Rangers got larger here
1993-1997 gen 2
1998 to 2011 gen 3
You have a Gen 1.5 which got a redesigned front end, other than that mechanically 1983-1992 are the same
You have a 2.3l SOHC Lima engine, also known as the Pinto engine, first use in 1974 Pinto, last used in 1997 Ranger
The 1989 to 1994 2.3l were different than the 1995-1997 2.3l model, and not the same 2.3l as in the 2001-2001 Rangers
You have dual spark plugs for better performance and an external spark module, called the ICM
You have an M5OD-R1 manual trans, it uses ATF, yes ATF in a manual trans, Mercon V is spec
There are different kinds of Lifts
Body lift doesn't change suspension so no alignment issues
Suspension left does require realignment, it changes the Camber and there is only so much adjustment for that, then you need to redesign it
