Ranger Fever
Ranger Fever
I have been looking for a Ford Ranger for about a year now. I wanted something clean and low mileage... Low and behold I came across a 2009 with 39,000. So, I had to get it. I've been working on a few things. Like LED's all around except for headlights and fogs, I went with the bright white Philip bulbs there. Had the bed Rhino lined. Replaced the door and rear speakers with Pioneers, added a double din Pioneer head unit and a Pioneer sub/amp.. It's sounds pretty darn good.
One thing I never do when I buy vehicles is get the extended warranty. However my wife said oh no you are buying an old truck, you need to get the warranty. They guy was baiting her good on all the reason we should buy it, so she just insisted. Well it's already paid off because right away I realized I was having the famous Ford blend door issue. I said, I can guy that and replace it myself. She said NO SIR, you got that extended warranty, you bring it to the Ford Dealership. Well I did and they actually fixed it and I had to pay $50, they billed those poor fools with the warranty $389. I mean really $449 to replace the blend door. GEEZ! Who knows it may actually end up being a good decision after all. It sure gives her peace of mind.
It's nice to be here. I've been reading some of the forums and I've found some great info.

Hi Thanks for the Welcome!
I got the 2.3l DOHC 4cyc, automatic and 4x2 as I am thinking about gas mileage too. In the few weeks since I purchased I've gotten very decent gas mileage, so I can check that box off.
These are popular trucks and it's hard to find any low mileage ones left on the road. Everyone that I've talked to about this model and tell them the miles they are like WOW! The guys at the dealership looked at the odometer twice because he couldn't believe it.
Can we post pictures here? I can put up a few pictures if it's okay.
