Hello everyone. First vehicle I drove for 14 years, was Mr. Guy Ranger Danger manual 93' 5spd, 4x4, I believe it was a 4L v6. Uncle bought it off the lot, then Dad had it for a bit, then it was mine, starting in '01, then in '15 with 315,000 miles I wanted new bearings, the shop (who I won't name) took it a part, said it was screwed and wouldn't put it back together. I even wrote an obituary for him. After a couple of junkers, I found a '99 automatic, that needed a a a not a head gasket but the other thingy, this is where I'll mention that I am a daughter of a mechanic, but only got to help when Dad couldn't hear where the noise was coming from, and bleeding brakes. I do my own oil changes (but not in the winter) and in August I replace the alternator with the help of a big friend to teach/guide and loosen the belt. Just took it in (found a Father Son shop that I love, super honest) to get plugs wires oil change, basicly the works for the up coming winter... he flushed the tranny fluid... next day reverse went out, band is broke, help! Do I pay for a used tranny, or rebuild it or toss it, this one... I haven't even named yet, not in love cuz it's not a manual, seriuosly, manuals, you can feel everything that's going on, especially for driving in the snow, with this one, I can't, I even gotta keep it I 2wd, cuz 4 wheel is too weird. I'm excited to be here with other Rangers so you all can help me with my decisions!!!!

A used tranny is a worthless gamble at this point. Just rebuild what you have and enjoy your truck again.
