Icon7 Squirrel Food!!!!

Hello all,

So, my father-in-law's Ranger had a squirrel visitor. I want to fix it for him, but I need to know what this connector is for. There are no CEL's.. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

If you zoom in to the center of the photo, you'll see the squirrel chew toy!

Thanks in advance...

Scott

Year & Engin spec, 2001~2003 V6~4.0L~SOHC ?
Looks like "squirrel" chewed KnockSensor cable off of its HarnessPlug !
KnockSensor (a glorified 2wire MicroPhon) is mounted in the EnginV;
need to remove ThrottleBody & UpperIntakeManifold to get to it.
Not difficult, but likely need to renew seal between ThrottleBody & UpperManifold, & seals between UpperManifold & LowerManifold
while your replacing the KnockSensor https://www.google.ca/search?q=knock...w=1366&bih=601
Weird that you're not getting an OBD2 TroubleCode & CEL for this (burnt out CEL lamp bulb?, check with KeyON & IgnitionOFF);
consider scanning for TroubleCodes to make sure.
