Stuck in the desert

Hey, everyone. Just thought I would make a formal introduction. My name is Dusty, I have an '03 FX4 and been driving it for about 6 years. In the millitary and currently stationed out here in BFE (El Paso, TX). Have done a few bolt-on mods: airaid cold air, magnaflow dual cat-back, superchips cortex, 3X2" L&L, 1750 lb heavy duty springs, 33X12.50-15 Maxxis Bighorns on 15X10 steelies. Researching very hard on SAS'ing it. Trying to get all the info and a parts list. Not going huge with it, just want to fit 35's comfortablyand get rid of all of this inadequate IFS crap that keeps wearing out and breaking. Probably going to go with leaf springs. Seems to be more in my price range right now. I can always change it later if I don't like it anyway. Anyhow, any constructive ideas would be appreciated and if you are around this area hit me up. I love a good excuse to go wheelin'.

Welcome!

There used to be another guy on here that was stationed there, but he no longer frequents the forum. I believe he was some sort of mechanic.

Thanks for the welcome. I will get some pics up soon. Have to do some resizing and what-not. Have been researching the wealth of knowledge on SAS and learning a lot. Starting to look like I need to do more planning before I tear it apart. Mostly steering and axle alignment specifics. Have to find somewhere to have a drive shaft made, or have mine modified depending on which axle I end up with. I am perfectly capable of doing all of the fab work myself which will save a ton of money. I have a feeling that I will be spending a good deal of time scouring the salvages for parts over the next few weeks.
