'89 Ranger in Ohio
Hi, Ranger Wranglers! My name is Dan and I live in a little burg west of Dayton. I bought my '89 in 1992, with less than 50K miles on it. I have had the best luck with it! I gave it to my daughter when I bought an F-150 several years ago and she loves it. Took her to college and back (bachelor's and master's) and now she uses it as her daily transportation to work. At 200K miles, I took it to a local repair shop for a new timing belt and oil sensor. The guys at the shop made a number of comments about how good the litte truck sounded. Then they worked on it, called and said it was done, and handed the keys to my daughter. We were getting curious about how many more miles we could get out of it, since it used no oil, started easily and ran great. However, our intrepid mechanics had negelected to fill the radiator and hook up the lower radiatior hose. So much for that dandy little engine. The truck was in great condition otherwise, so I put a remanufactured engine in it, which has worked wonderfully. (There's a whole story here).
I recently retired after 37 years working (as a civilian) at the local Air Force Base. I like woodworking (sawdust manufacturing), old Farmall tractors, and movies and books. It'll be great getting to know you guys! Dan
