Icon7 Transmission swap

Hello I'm a newbie to the site. I have a '93 Ranger 4x2 4.0l 5spd manual . Can I swap a 2000 Explorer 4x2 4.0l 5spd manual for my transmission?
I'm a Boomer, Marine, Veteran and I was told that if there was something I needed to know about Rangers this was the place to ask the question and the answers would come flyin; well I asked.
I found this 2000 trans online and come Mon (2/17) morning I'm driving 5 hours one way to get it. All I know about the trans is what I've been told and some pics (???) ( I'm also a retired carpenter) and THAT is why I need are some of those ANSWERS to come flying pretty quick. Thank you for listening and hopefully reading, I anxiously await ANY response.

Welcome to the forum

EDIT

No, you need a 1997 or older manual trans

Sorry, I forgot about speedometer cable in the 1994 and older Rangers, the speedometer cable gear was remove from the manual transmissions in 1997 so 1998 and up won't have that hook up

You need an M5R1(M5OD-R1) transmission from a 2WD 4.0l Ranger 1990-1997 to get speedometer cable hook up
4WD won't work, neither would 2.3l or 3.0l transmission
1988-1992, 2.9l 2WD could also be used its an M5R1 as well, it has same bolt pattern as 4.0l

Whats wrong with the old trans? It can be rebuilt fairly easily. If you are unsure about doing it, there are plenty of members that could do so, myself included.

A lot of shops should be familiar with this trans as well, too. It's in every manual ranger/explorer, and a sister trans which is similar is in some of the manual F series trucks.
