The picture kind of sucks but whatever.
2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Six speed manual, nav etc. I didn't want the white top and fenders but there were not many choices of '12 rubicons with manual transmissions, that were white and not reeeeeally heavily equipped. I'll be throwing flat or tube fenders on before long anyway.
I'm so happy to have manual transmission, manual transfer case, solid axles, factory lockers etc. I just wish Ford made something to compete with it.

Yes it has the 3.6l. It's not too exciting but supposedly it's a lot better than the 3.8l minivan engine that they use to have. I never drove the 3.8.
I've always liked the four doors lifted, not a huge fan of how they look stock. Should be fixing that real soon...

I need to bypass the single locker switch (only works in 4 low, and can only lock the front axle with the rear locked) and install separate switches that aren't restricted to 4 low.

The two front panels pop off real easy and store in a bag. The rest is a hard top, removable just like every other jeep with eight bolts and a couple of quick release electrical connectors. I was at the in-laws when I took the picture so I didn't bother taking the whole top off, just playing around and seeing how it all works.
The doors are easy like always too. A nut on each of two door hinges, and a wiring pigtail that unplugs about six inches from the door.
I added more shelving in my garage and got the Jeep and the Golf parked inside, a relief considering my neighbor's **** head kids. I have yet to make racks to hang up the doors, and I'm not sure but I may put together a hoist for the top.
I claybarred and waxed the paint last night. Lots of crap stuck on the paint from sitting on the lot, some pollen, moss in some cracks, who knows what but it felt rough. Now it's all smoooooth and waxed, should make it much easier to clean in the future. Tomorrow I'm tinting the windows, then I'll be off to work for three weeks. Ugh. Lift/wheels/tires when I get home....

Yeah man, I'm getting tired of looking at it stock... I drove past some middle aged woman today who was driving a Jeep that looked identical to mine, except it had big gay chrome wheels. lol
I'm hoping after I lift it, I can sell the factory wheels/tires/springs/shocks quickly and get a couple of bumpers in the mail. Or at least a front bumper and some better head lights or something.

Hatch/Hardtop.
A Hatch would be the same as a Hardtop in a sense...You have never heard anyone say take off the rear hatch???? Take off the entire rear. Just because a hatch is only the rear door doesn't mean it's not slang to take the top off. It's said for a bunch of vehicles with removable tops...
Brian, can't wait to see some more pics.

I could have sold a bunch of stuff from the truck but I just wanted to sell it quickly and pick up the jeep. I felt bad because I could have swapped a lot of stuff with a good friend who owns an 05 and didn't even think about it. I should have atleast pulled out the scan gauge and brake controller, but oh well!
The money I had left over from selling the truck paid for a suspension lift and new wheels and tires. Cant wait to get back home and install everything!

Damn one of my favorite trucks. Exactly how I want my next f150 to be. Though I love the jeep too and can understand the purchase. I'd love to have a usable convertible lol.

Bah, my lift is backordered but should still be delivered before I get back home. The stuff I ordered isn't extreme. I originally planned on 37s but the additional cost over what I'm doing was $2500-3000 not including axleshafts. I didn't feel comfortable running 37s without re-gearing, sleeving and gusseting the front axle, needed fenders etc.
So for now I'm going with a smaller setup and upgrade things as I have the money, probably switch to 37s later depending on how this works out.
Ill start a new thread somewhere when I get home and get things installed (2-3 weeks) .
