'07 4.0L Mustang Engine in a Ranger?

Would an '07 Mustang 4.0L engine bolt up and plug in easy into a Ranger? Any insight would help. Just curious.

I have no idea if it would, but I highly doubt it. For what that engine is though, if it was ANY more than plug in and go type deal I'd say skip it for something better regardless.

I don't think it would be plug and play.

He was a tick LOL.

As far as the block they are the same the only difference is the heads and the lift and duration of the camshafts.

It's amusing the things I read on here when members frequently don't fully understand the implications involved with moving a foreign engine from one vehicle to one of our trucks (or for any modern vehicle for that matter)

Might as well get another 4.0 out of a ranger considering it's almost identicle

Atleast the 01-03 swap is easier then the 04+ Rangers

Just curious. I can see how stupid it might sound but I was just seeing what you guys thought. It would be a pointless swap but I think they changed some things on the newer 4.0Ls..

I would love to do a swap like that new 5.0 that I've seen out there on the 2011. Just not affordable lol

why not just put the cams from the mustang into the ranger? not that they could be that different... they make similar power, so...
