i want to put a straight steering axle on the front of my truck to make it 4 wheel drive i would also put in a transfer case and such out of a wrecked truck and put it in mine i was thinking of just puting leaf springs on front
has anyone done this is it hard

 

Search solid axle swap or SAS, im guessing thats what your talking about and it has been covered many times

 

Details on the truck in question might help a little.

 

depends on how mechanically inclined you are, the tools you have available, and your persistance.....but its definitely possible

 

ive looked into this also but all i know is that it will take time and effort to put towards. plus knowing what you need for example: a 4wd transmission or put the 4wd housing on the existing tranny, a transfer case, an axle with matching gears and im sure there are some other things you need. i believe you can only use an axle on the driver side. i dont know if thats right and i dont know if that has anything to do with it but thats what ive been told. 03edge im sure could fill in since hes done it...
