96 Ranger build; Looking for ideas
A few months ago I got this wild idea that I wanted to take part in the Ozark Gambler 500. Flash forward to last week and I have a 96 Ranger I scored off Craigslist for 500 bucks sitting in my driveway. It's got a bad clutch but thanks to a few people on this forum they gave me some tips on getting it working again. Now I'm onto the fun part: getting the thing setup for some mild off-road abuse. I wouldn't mind getting some input on things that would make a 2wd Ranger work somewhat well off-road. Anyone with experience using wheel spacers and leveling kits, your ideas are more than welcome. Insight on things I need to worry about breaking, stuff I should reinforce. This is my first ranger and I have no idea what its weak spots are.
Thanks friends.

Limited slip rear axle, 4.10 ratio, 1993 to 2012 Ranger axles will fit, 7.5" or 8.8" is fine for 4-cyl engine
Drivers door sticker will tell you what you have now: Ford 7.5 & 8.8 Inch Axle Tag & Door Codes
Taller tires for better axle ground clearance
