This is a step kit idea I had while trying to climb in my pick-up by the tailgate.
Any pick-up owner can do this. I welded a slider under the hitch bar and slided in an aluminum tube 1 by 2 (T6 hardness) with a welded step angle on it.
This is all held in place by a pin locked with a cotter pin.
I used a 2.5 by 2.5 steel tube 1/4 thick, cut to fit and welded so it would fit on my sliding tube. A steel tube 2 by 2 would have done the job as step bar.
